The Classic OverPower expansion debuted in September 1997 with 215 cards (32 Character Cards, 152 Special Cards, 1 Power Card, 1 Event Card, 16 Doubleshot Cards, 5 Location Cards, 8 Artifact Cards).
Distribution
Cards were distributed in:
- Booster packs of 15 cards
- Booster boxes of 36 booster packs
New Special Card codes
With the Classic OverPower release, the following Special Card codes were introduced: JO JP JQ JR JS JT JU JV JW JX JY JZ KA KB KC KD KE KF KG KH KI KJ KK KL KM KN KO KP KQ KR KS KT LR LS LT
New card types
Artifact Cards were introduced.
