This is the first image of the fairly large project that I am currently working on, which is a complete rework of the first real image that I made by myself. It is also an unfinished work, but I have been able to make a lot of progress in the last few weeks and I still have many things that I want to do. This project will hopefully become an animation, as this is only the entrance to a crypt/shrine and there is so much more that I want to show.
The two things on each
side, just on the other side of the fencing, the ones that are supposed
to look like pedestals, will each have a statue on top, one for his father
and one for his mother. But those statue objects I am not planning
on creating for another several months, after I have taught myself how
to make them in Organica. I believe that the statues are the only
objects that I want to add to this scene, unless I decide to show additional
areas in the final animation.
The grass is the latest
thing that I made for this image, but I want to make it look just a little
bit more realistic. I hope I can make a small brushmap that will
look like small grasses to break up the clearly defined edges of the closer
objects. I would also like to do something to the crests of the hills
behind the entrance, so it does not look like such a smooth surface.
There are also a few sharp edges that can be seen in the hills that will
need to be smoothed our for the final version.
After I am satisfied
with the way the entrance looks, I plan to work on the ending scene of
the animation, which will be the shrine for Ripayuheadoff. I already
have the basics of this scene set in my mind, which of course is the easy
part. The primary objects for the scene may take some time to create.
I have already created some of the objects for this scene, to help make
it look a little like the final image. The focus of this scene will
be a statue of Ripayuheadoff himself, which I want to create before I make
the statues at the entrance. Any additional objects would then be
created and added to dress up the scene to give it some sense of life.
Connecting the entrance
and the shrine is a long hallway that symbolizes the life and times of
the man from my story who is called Ripayuheadoff. This hallway is
mostly finished as it was the main focus of this project when I first started
reworking it back in 1997. I had spent so much time working on this
hallway that I do not want to change any of it, shamefully out of fear
that I would have to create it all over again if I decide to do something
different. Of course, when people have to recreate things, they are
sometimes better than the original. Which is something I have witnessed
myself do when using Imagine, so it could be a good idea afterall.
The hallway is rather naked right now, as I still need to decide what will
be placed in it. I believe that the major items that come to mind
from the story would require too much time to create, or maybe require
some talent I do not yet have. All of these finer details I will
decide later, after I have completed the entrance and the shrine.
