This Special is played during battle and sets an effect that is used later. When this Special is in play, it takes effect after the character is KO'd. During the Discard Phase in the battle after the character is KO'd, the character is "resurrected" and placed on the frontline, but has no cards that were placed or in play on them when KO'd. During that Battle's discard phase, any cards playable by that character do not have to be discarded. If the player already has three front-line Characters, then he will play this Battle with four front line Characters. The "resurrected" Character can act just as if he had no hits on his "permanent record", but may still be KO'd during the Battle by a Spectrum KO or Cumulative KO. Any Specials which were in play on the Character that would affect the Character for the game (such as an EK Special), would no longer be in effect. At the end of the Battle, regardless of what damage the resurrected Character has or has not taken, the Character is automatically KO'd, and placed in the defeated Character pile.
If the case arises that the Character playing the Special is the last Character on your team and this Special is played and later in that same Battle, the Character is KO'd, then the current Battle would end and the winner of the Battle would be resolved via Venture total. The resurrected Character would come into play next Battle. This resurrected Character can knock out all the opponent's existing Characters or win the game through Venture.
Meta Rules
Meta #73 Specials which have a lasting duration remain in play and on the table. The Special card should be positioned next to the Character in a manner in which it is obvious that it is not Placed.
Meta #95 Specials which affect how things occur in the next battle prior to the Battle phase (e.g., before placing begins in the next battle) can be negated in the battle in which they are played. Once the next battle begins (and the effect has already taken place) the Special is no longer in play (it is discarded to the Dead Pile) and cannot be negated. Specials which last longer than the placing phase can still be negated.
Meta #96 Characters resurrected via a Special are automatically K.O.'d after the end of the battle. Therefore, if such a resurrected Character is the last Character standing and that Character manages to K.O. the opposing team or complete the team's Mission then that player is the winner.
Meta #119 Characters which are brought back from a K.O.'d state come back without any of the cards that were Placed or in Play to them at the time that they were K.O.'d.
Meta #145 Specials that do not indicate their duration by their game text should be considered Game lasting duration if they are One Per Deck and Battle lasting duration if they are non-OPD. Specials with instant effects are instant duration regardless.
